Dans la continuité de la série Dots, où la répétition du point se déploie en rythmes chromatiques  évoquant une cartographie aérienne et vibrante, Covadonga Castro Unzueta poursuit son exploration du motif comme langage visuel. Avec la série Ellipse, l'artiste déplace le point vers la courbe, ouvrant une nouvelle dynamique dans laquelle la forme se fait mouvement contenu, expansion minimale et variation dans un même geste.

Sur la surface, pigments et jeux de texture se combinent entre geste maîtrisé et recherche de l'imprévisibilité. Les ellipses s’y déploient comme des orbes instables, qui se répondent sans jamais se répéter, révélant des variations infinies dans un même geste. Le tableau, à la fois structuré et ouvert, oscille entre abstraction géométrique et suggestion organique, créant une tension entre rigueur formelle et fluidité du vivant. Ellipse engage un rapport singulier au regard, invitant à suivre le tracé de ses courbes comme autant d’orbites en mouvement. In continuity with the Dots series, where the repetition of the dot unfolds into chromatic rhythms evoking a vibrant aerial cartography, Covadonga Castro Unzueta pursues her exploration of motif as a visual language. With the Ellipse series, the artist shifts from the dot to the curve, opening a new dynamic in which form becomes contained motion, minimal expansion, and variation within a single gesture.

On the surface, pigments and textured effects combine between controlled gesture and the pursuit of unpredictability. The ellipses unfold like unstable orbits, echoing one another without ever repeating, revealing infinite variations within a single act of inscription. The painting, both structured and open, oscillates between geometric abstraction and organic suggestion, creating a tension between formal rigor and the fluidity of the living. Ellipse establishes a singular relationship with the gaze, inviting the eye to follow the trajectory of its curves as if tracing orbits in motion. The viewer is drawn into a cycle of gravitation and return, where each ellipse emerges as a subtle variation, oscillating between stability and displacement, concentration and expansion.
